The vertical points to relationship with the divine; we go deep into the earthiness of our being (centering) and open to the influence of the heavens. We can be seen as having a “haric line”(47) that extends vertically from the molten core of the earth through the hara and heart and other midline chakras to the far reaches of the heavens. This is also known as the line of light (48) and as the sword of the spirit.(49)
The horizontal points to the relationships of daily life; we move from horizon to horizon in the conduct of our daily business. Two principles/practices allow effectiveness in the horizontal realm.
